Terms of Use

LocalSportsHistory.com — Effective Date: July 3, 2026

Please read these Terms of Use (“Terms”) carefully before using LocalSportsHistory.com (the “Site”). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1. About the Site

LocalSportsHistory.com is a community-built archive of local sports history operated by Local Computerized Services, LLC (“Company,” “we,” or “us”). Members submit content about their local communities — game results, rosters, Hall of Fame inductions, notable athletes, and more — which is published instantly and made available to the public nationwide.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use this Site. By using the Site, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.

If you are between the ages of 13 and 17, you may only use this Site with the prior review and consent of a parent or legal guardian. By registering for an account, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has read these Terms, understands them, and consents to your use of the Site on these terms. If you are a parent or guardian permitting a minor to use the Site, you agree to be responsible for that minor’s activity on the Site and compliance with these Terms.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a user is under 13, we will promptly delete their account. If you believe a child under 13 has registered, please contact us at privacy@localsportshistory.com.

Paid memberships (including the $9/month personal page) and any features that involve uploading media files are restricted to users who are 18 years of age or older. Users between the ages of 13 and 17 may register for a free account and submit text-based content, but may not purchase a paid subscription or upload media. By proceeding to paid checkout, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old.

3. Accounts

  • You must create a free account to submit content, purchase a membership, or advertise on the Site.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information up to date.
  • You may not share your account with others or create accounts under false pretenses.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. User-Submitted Content

A. Instant Publication Policy

Content submitted by members is published immediately — there is no pre-publication review queue. By submitting content, you represent and warrant that:

  • The content is accurate and factual to the best of your knowledge.
  • You have the right to submit the content and it does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights.
  • The content does not contain false statements of fact about real, named individuals.
  • The content complies with all applicable laws.

B. Content Standards

This Site is designed to be a positive, nostalgic, community-building resource. You agree NOT to submit content that:

  • Is false, defamatory, harassing, abusive, or threatening toward any person.
  • Contains political commentary, controversial opinions, or negative “hot take” material.
  • Makes negative or accusatory statements about real, named individuals.
  • Violates the privacy or intellectual property rights of others.
  • Is spam, commercial solicitation unrelated to the Site’s advertising system, or promotional content submitted as organic content.
  • Contains obscene, sexually explicit, or otherwise inappropriate material.

C. Content License

By submitting content to the Site, you grant Local Computerized Services, LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to display, distribute, reproduce, and create derivative works from your content as part of the Site’s operations. You retain ownership of your original content.

D. Flagging and Moderation

Any signed-in user may flag a submission for admin review. Flagging does not automatically remove content — it queues the content for administrator review. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms, in our sole discretion, without prior notice.

5. Hall of Fame, All-Star, and Coach of the Year Submissions

These submission types name real individuals publicly as honorees. By submitting such content, you affirm that the information is accurate and that you are acting in good faith to recognize genuine community athletic achievement — not to defame, embarrass, or misrepresent any individual. Submissions that misuse this feature to make false claims about real people will be removed and may result in account termination.

6. Notable People / Special People Directory

Profiles of notable athletes and sports personalities may be added and lightly edited by any member. By contributing to this directory, you agree that:

  • Information you add is factual and accurate.
  • You are not adding profiles maliciously or as a means of harassing any person.
  • Hometown and high-school assignments are correct to the best of your knowledge, as these cannot be self-corrected and require admin review to change.

7. Paid Membership

A. Member Page Plan

For $9/month (subject to change with notice), paying members receive a personal editable page and the ability to claim and manage a team or organization page. Membership is billed monthly through Stripe.

B. Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel your membership at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will retain access to member features until then. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial months, except as required by applicable law.

C. Media Links

Paying members may submit links to photos and videos hosted on third-party platforms (such as YouTube). Media links are reviewed by administrators before being displayed publicly. We reserve the right to reject links that violate our content standards or link to inappropriate material.

8. Advertising

A. Ad Tiers

Advertising is available at tiered pricing based on geographic reach (Local, County, State, or National). Icon-only listings are available at no charge. Paid ads are billed monthly through Stripe.

B. Ad Caps

Each geographic scope has a maximum number of simultaneously active paid ads. If a scope is full when you attempt to purchase, you will be notified before payment is processed.

C. Ad Content

By placing an advertisement, you represent that your business, product, or service is lawful, that you have the right to advertise it, and that your ad content is accurate and does not violate any third-party rights. We reserve the right to remove ads that violate these Terms or applicable law.

D. Ad Rotation

Paid ads are displayed in rotation — a random selection of active ads is shown at any given time, cycling approximately every 10 seconds. All active paid advertisers for a given scope share equal rotation opportunity. We do not guarantee a specific number of impressions.

9. Predictions Feature

The predictions feature allows members to make picks on sports contests for fun. This feature is provided purely for entertainment and bragging-rights purposes:

  • There is NO entry fee to participate.
  • There is NO prize of any kind for correct picks.
  • This feature does not constitute gambling, wagering, or a contest of skill for prize.
  • We reserve the right to modify or discontinue this feature at any time.

10. Local Sales Representative Program

Individuals approved as local sales representatives (“Reps”) are subject to a separate Independent Contractor Agreement. Key supplemental terms:

  • Being approved as a Rep does not guarantee any minimum earnings or an exclusive territory.
  • Commission credit requires actual use of your unique referral code by an advertiser at checkout.
  • We reserve the right to modify Rep commission rates, program terms, or discontinue the Rep Program with reasonable notice.

11. Intellectual Property

The Site’s design, software, logos, and original content (excluding user-submitted content) are owned by Local Computerized Services, LLC and protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our proprietary content without prior written permission.

Historical facts, statistics, game scores, and similar factual information are not subject to copyright protection. We do not claim ownership over the underlying facts contained in user submissions.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SITE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of any user-submitted content.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, LOCAL COMPUTERIZED SERVICES, LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Local Computerized Services, LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of: (a) your use of the Site; (b) your submitted content; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any third-party rights.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, with proceedings to take place in Richmond, Virginia, except that either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction. YOU WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OR CLASS-WIDE ARBITRATION.

16. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on the Site with a new effective date. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Site at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. To terminate your account, contact support@localsportshistory.com.
