• Account registration: display name, email address, and password (stored as a one-way encrypted hash — we never store your plain-text password).
• Payment information: when you purchase a membership or ad, payment details are collected and processed directly by Stripe, Inc. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
• Content you submit: game results, season histories, rosters, Hall of Fame entries, All-Star teams, Coach of the Year honors, athlete profiles, and any other content you post.
• Member page content: text, bio, and media links you add to your personal member page.
• Advertising information: business name, website URL, and icon image URL you provide when placing an ad.
• Rep program application: your name, email, and chosen town/territory if you apply to become a local sales representative.
• Communications: messages or inquiries you send to us.

B. Information Collected Automatically

• Log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, time and date of visit, referring URL.
• Cookies: session cookies necessary for authentication (keeping you logged in) and preference cookies. We do not use advertising tracking cookies.
• Usage data: features used, search queries, and content you interact with — used only to improve the Site.

C. Information from Third Parties

• Stripe: when you make a purchase, Stripe shares with us a customer identifier, payment status, subscription status, and the last four digits of your card. Stripe’s own privacy policy governs their data practices: stripe.com/privacy.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account.
• Process payments and manage your membership or advertising subscription.
• Display the content you submit (this is the core purpose of the service).
• Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, payment receipts).
• Send platform updates, feature announcements, and community news to users who have opted in to receive them at signup or in their account settings. You may unsubscribe at any time via the link in any such email or by contacting us. We do not send promotional emails to users who have not opted in.
• Respond to your questions and support requests.
• Monitor for and address fraudulent, abusive, or policy-violating activity.
• Analyze aggregate, anonymized usage patterns to improve the Site.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for behavioral advertising.

A. Publicly Visible Information

Content you submit (game results, Hall of Fame entries, athlete profiles, etc.) is published publicly and visible to anyone — that is the purpose of this Site. Your display name is shown alongside your submissions. Your email address is never displayed publicly.

B. Service Providers

We share data with trusted service providers who assist us in operating the Site, all of whom are contractually obligated to keep your data confidential:

• Stripe, Inc. — payment processing and, for sales reps, Stripe Connect payouts.
• Neon / PostgreSQL cloud hosting — database storage for your account and content data.
• Vercel, Inc. — web hosting and delivery of the Site.

C. Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect our rights, or protect the safety of our users or others.

D. Business Transfers

If LocalSportsHistory.com or Local Computerized Services, LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. You will be notified via email and/or a prominent site notice of any such change in ownership.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information and submitted content for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal account data within 30 days, though submitted content may be retained in anonymized or attributed form as part of the public historical record. Payment records are retained as required by tax and accounting law (typically 7 years).

6. Your Rights and Choices

• Access and correction: you may access and update your account information at any time via your account settings page.
• Deletion: you may request deletion of your account by contacting privacy@localsportshistory.com.
• Email opt-in and opt-out: platform announcement emails are sent only to users who opt in at signup or in account settings. You may unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email or by contacting us at privacy@localsportshistory.com. We do not sell your information to advertisers.
• California residents (CCPA): you have the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt out of sale. We do not sell personal information.
