Local Area Recognition
Honor the coaches, athletes, volunteers, and community members who shaped local sports history — one county at a time. Nominations and votes come from the community itself.
How it works
Search your county's LAR page. If the person isn't there yet, start a nomination record. Each member gets 3 nomination slots total — use them wisely.
A candidate needs 3 nominations from 3 different community members to appear on the ballot. Once there, anyone can vote. Each member gets 3 vote slots.
At 10 votes, a candidate is automatically inducted into their county's LAR — permanently part of the local sports history record.
A free account is required to nominate or vote. Sign up free — it takes 30 seconds. Nominations and votes accumulate indefinitely — there are no deadlines. The community self-polices: use the alert button on any record to report a concern. Read the full guidelines →
