Wilt Chamberlain grew up in Philadelphia and dominated at Overbrook High School, where he averaged 37 points and 25 rebounds per game and compiled a 58–3 record. After two seasons at Kansas he entered the NBA with the Philadelphia Warriors in 1959. What followed was the most statistically dominant career in NBA history: 100 points in a single game (March 2, 1962), 50.4 points per game for an entire season (1961–62), 55 rebounds in a single game, and 7 consecutive scoring titles. He won 2 NBA championships (1967 with the 76ers, 1972 with the Lakers), was a 13× All-Star, and holds records that will almost certainly never be broken. Inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1979.
