Tony Dorsett grew up in the Hopewell area outside Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, and starred at Hopewell High School before winning the 1976 Heisman Trophy at the University of Pittsburgh. Drafted 2nd overall by the Dallas Cowboys in 1977, Dorsett won a Super Bowl in his rookie year and went on to rush for 12,739 career yards — 4th all-time at his retirement. He made the Pro Bowl four times and in 1983 scored the longest run from scrimmage in NFL history: a 99-yard touchdown against the Minnesota Vikings. Known for his elusiveness, speed, and toughness, Dorsett gave America's Team one of its most dynamic offensive weapons of the 1970s and 80s. Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1994.
