Reggie Jackson was born in Wyncote, Pennsylvania, in the Philadelphia suburbs, and attended Cheltenham High School before going on to Arizona State, where he was a consensus All-American. Drafted 2nd overall by the Kansas City Athletics in 1967, Jackson became one of the most feared power hitters of his era, winning 5 World Series titles (3 with Oakland, 2 with the Yankees). His greatest moment came in Game 6 of the 1977 World Series, when he hit 3 home runs on 3 consecutive pitches — earning the nickname "Mr. October." He finished with 563 career home runs and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1993.
