Mike Ditka grew up in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania — one of football's most celebrated talent factories — and starred at Aliquippa High School before playing at the University of Pittsburgh. Drafted 5th overall by the Chicago Bears in 1961, Ditka revolutionized the tight end position, becoming the first to use it as a primary receiving weapon. He won the 1963 NFL Championship with the Bears as a player, and later won Super Bowl XX as Chicago's head coach in 1985, leading one of the most dominant defenses in NFL history. He remains one of only two people to win a Super Bowl as both a player and head coach. Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a player in 1988.
