Markelle Fultz was selected #1 overall in the 2017 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers after one season at the University of Washington, making him the highest pick to come out of DeMatha Catholic High School. As a DeMatha standout in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, DC, Fultz was a consensus five-star recruit and one of the top prospects in his class. His early NBA career was derailed by a shooting form mystery and a thoracic outlet syndrome diagnosis with the 76ers, but after being traded to the Orlando Magic in 2019, Fultz rebuilt his game and established himself as a reliable point guard. Attended DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland.
