Mark Teixeira was selected 5th overall in the 2001 MLB Draft by the Texas Rangers out of Georgia Tech after starring at Mount Saint Joseph High School in Baltimore, where he graduated in 1998. A switch-hitting first baseman and one of the most complete players of his era, Teixeira played 14 MLB seasons with the Rangers, Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Angels, and New York Yankees. He earned 3 American League Gold Glove Awards, 5 Silver Slugger Awards, and was named to 3 All-Star teams. He belted 409 career home runs and drove in 1,298 runs. With the Yankees, Teixeira slugged 39 homers and drove in 122 runs in 2009, helping New York win the World Series. Attended Mount Saint Joseph High School in Baltimore, Maryland.
