Kenny Carr was selected 6th overall in the 1977 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers after starring at North Carolina State University. Before going to NC State, Carr attended DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. He was a member of the United States' gold medal–winning basketball team at the 1976 Montreal Olympics, one of the last amateur-only USA Olympic basketball rosters. Carr played 10 NBA seasons (1977–1987) for the Lakers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Detroit Pistons, Portland Trail Blazers, and New Orleans Jazz, averaging 11.1 points per game for his career. Attended DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland.
