Jadeveon Clowney was born on February 14, 1993, in Rock Hill, South Carolina, and attended South Pointe High School — the same school that produced Stephon Gilmore — where he was a consensus five-star recruit and the most coveted defensive prospect in the nation. At the University of South Carolina under head coach Steve Spurrier, Clowney delivered one of the greatest single plays in college football history: a helmet-shattering hit on Michigan running back Vincent Smith in the 2013 Outback Bowl that became the most-watched non-scoring play in college football history. He was selected first overall by the Houston Texans in the 2014 NFL Draft, making him one of the most heralded defensive players to ever enter the league. A three-time Pro Bowl selection and perennial force at defensive end, Clowney has combined elite athleticism, pass-rushing ability, and run-stopping prowess throughout his career. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 2016, 2017, and 2018 and was widely regarded as one of the most physically gifted defensive ends of his generation. Born and raised in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
