Gavin Floyd was selected 4th overall in the 2001 MLB Draft by the Philadelphia Phillies — the highest draft selection in Mount Saint Joseph High School history at the time — after graduating in 2001. A right-handed starting pitcher, Floyd spent most of his 12-year MLB career with the Chicago White Sox, where he won 17 games in 2008 and was among the American League's most reliable starters from 2007 to 2012. He also pitched for the Atlanta Braves and Cleveland Indians. Career totals included 89 wins and a 4.19 ERA across 239 career starts. Attended Mount Saint Joseph High School in Baltimore, Maryland.
