Frank "Gunner" Gatski is a Pro Football Hall of Fame center from Farmington, West Virginia, regarded as one of the greatest offensive linemen in football history. He grew up on a farm in Farmington and developed his toughness on a Farmington High School football team that played on a cow pasture. After playing at Marshall College and serving in World War II, Gatski joined the Cleveland Browns in 1946 and anchored the offensive line for 11 of the most successful seasons in football history. In his first 11 NFL seasons with the Browns (1946–1956), the team went to 11 consecutive championship games, winning eight. He was named a starter in four consecutive Pro Bowls and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1985. Famously, he never missed a practice or a game in his entire professional career.
