Floyd Mayweather Jr. was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, into a family of professional boxers — his father Floyd Sr. and uncles Roger and Jeff all fought professionally. He won a bronze medal at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, then turned professional and retired undefeated at 50-0, defeating champions across five weight classes (super featherweight through super welterweight). His technical mastery, defensive genius, and promotional savvy made him the highest-paid athlete in the world multiple times over. Mayweather was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2021.
