DeAndre Hopkins was born on June 6, 1992, in Central, South Carolina (Pickens County), and attended D.W. Daniel High School, where he starred as a wide receiver and quarterback and committed to Clemson University. At Clemson, he became one of the program's greatest receivers ever and was selected 27th overall by the Houston Texans in the 2013 NFL Draft. Hopkins quickly established himself as one of the most dominant wide receivers of his generation — a physical receiver with elite body control, extraordinary catch radius, and hands so reliable that many coaches and analysts consider him the finest pure pass-catcher in modern NFL history. A six-time Pro Bowl selection, Hopkins is perhaps best remembered for "The Miracle in Mexico City" — a one-handed touchdown catch in the back of the end zone against the Oakland Raiders on Monday Night Football in 2018 — and "The Hail Murray" — a 43-yard catch in the final seconds against the Buffalo Bills in 2020 that won the game for Arizona and cemented his reputation as the game's premier receiver in contested coverage situations.
