Darren McFadden was born on August 27, 1987, in Little Rock, Arkansas, and emerged as one of the most electrifying college running backs of his generation at the University of Arkansas. He was the runner-up for the Heisman Trophy in both 2006 and 2007, and won the Doak Walker Award as the nation's top running back in 2007 — finishing as a two-time Heisman runner-up, one of only a handful of players to achieve that distinction. He was selected fourth overall in the 2008 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders and had his best professional season in 2010, when he rushed for 1,157 yards and seven touchdowns. McFadden's career was slowed by injuries, but at his best he combined extraordinary speed, balance, and vision that made him one of the most dangerous open-field runners in the league. He finished with 6,377 career rushing yards over 11 NFL seasons.
