Dante "Glue Fingers" Lavelli was born in Hudson, Ohio, and attended Hudson High School before playing at Ohio State — where his career was interrupted by service in World War II. He was part of the very first Cleveland Browns team in 1946, immediately becoming one of Paul Brown's most trusted receivers. Over 11 seasons in Cleveland, Lavelli won three AAFC championships and one NFL championship, and he was Otto Graham's most reliable target in the biggest moments — catching 11 passes in the 1950 NFL Championship game, a total that stood as a record for decades. Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1975.
