Chris Drury was born in Trumbull, Connecticut, and is one of the state's most decorated athletes. At 12 he pitched the Trumbull Little League team to the 1989 Little League World Series championship — one of New England's most celebrated youth sports moments. He went on to win the Hobey Baker Award at Boston University (1998), then played 12 NHL seasons for the Colorado Avalanche, Calgary Flames, Buffalo Sabres, and New York Rangers, winning the Stanley Cup with Colorado in 2001. Drury served as captain for both the Sabres and Rangers and is widely considered one of the best clutch players of his generation.
