Benjamin Todd Roethlisberger was born on March 2, 1982, in Lima, Ohio, and grew up in Findlay, Ohio, where he attended Findlay High School and excelled in football, basketball, and baseball. Overlooked by major college programs, he went to Miami University in Oxford, Ohio — known as the "Cradle of Coaches" — and developed into one of the most prolific quarterbacks in MAC history. Drafted 11th overall by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2004, Roethlisberger became a starter in Week 2 and never relinquished the job, going 13-0 as a starter in his rookie season. He won Super Bowl XL after his second season and Super Bowl XLIII three years later with a last-minute, 78-yard touchdown drive — one of the most memorable drives in Super Bowl history. The 6'5", 241-pound "Big Ben" was defined by his extraordinary ability to extend plays, escape pressure, and deliver accurate throws outside the pocket. A six-time Pro Bowl selection, he retired after the 2021 season as one of the most decorated quarterbacks in Steelers history, with 418 touchdown passes.
