Mobile, AL (Mobile County); historically Black high school in Toulminville (now part of Mobile), serving Mobile's African American community under Alabama's era of segregation; one of the most athletically and academically distinguished Black institutions in Gulf Coast Alabama; alma mater of Hank Aaron (National Baseball Hall of Fame 1982; all-time home run record holder with 755 career home runs; 25-time All-Star; nicknamed "The Hammer"; broke Babe Ruth's record on April 8, 1974, amid death threats and tremendous social pressure; perhaps the most complete player in baseball history) and Willie McCovey (National Baseball Hall of Fame 1986; San Francisco Giants first baseman; 6× All-Star; 1969 NL MVP; 521 career home runs; his line drive in the 1962 World Series Game 7 that Bobby Richardson caught is one of baseball's most famous final outs)
