How to Submit a Takedown Notice

If you believe content on LocalSportsHistory.com infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our Designated Agent at the email address above. To be valid under the DMCA, your notice must include all of the following:

1. Identification of the copyrighted work. Describe the work you believe has been infringed (e.g., “a photograph I took of the 1987 Riverside High School football team”).
2. Identification of the infringing material. Provide the specific URL on LocalSportsHistory.com where the infringing content appears.
3. Your contact information. Include your full name, mailing address, phone number, and email address.
4. Good-faith statement. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
5. Accuracy statement. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and — under penalty of perjury — that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the copyright owner’s behalf.
6. Your signature. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or their authorized agent.

Notices that are missing required elements may not be acted upon. We will respond to complete, valid notices within 24 hours by removing or disabling access to the identified content.

Counter-Notification

If your content was removed and you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification to our Designated Agent. A valid counter-notification must include:

• Your name, address, and phone number
• Identification of the removed content and its original URL
• A statement under penalty of perjury that the removal was a mistake or that the material was misidentified
• Your consent to the jurisdiction of a federal district court
• Your physical or electronic signature

Upon receipt of a valid counter-notification, we will forward it to the original claimant. If the claimant does not notify us of a court action within 14 business days, we may restore the removed content.
